iPlayer for iPhone?

By User Imagepartickbateman | February 21, 2008

Just read a post over at TUAW that has my geek juices flowing like booze in Parliament: the BBC iPlayer is coming to the iPhone. In a matter of weeks.

Be. Still. My. Beating. Heart.

If this proves to be true, my sleek little companion is about to become even mightier. With rumours that Apple are planning another big announcement soon and speculation that this will be about the SDK,  what better a pre-launch partner than the BBC? And if they’ve managed to pull off a coup like this one, it’s likely there’s going to be some amazing surprises in store…

Given that they’ve just announced a partnership with the BBC for content to be downloaded in iTunes I would expect that they will be partnering up for some other stuff as well. It suits the BBC too as they are looking for a foothold in the new media content market. A good bit of business on both sides by the looks of things.
