Deathsweep ‘08!

In what proved to be another contentious Twitter conversation Niall thought it’d fun to take bets on which celebrities are going to die first in 2008. By the death hungry responses this was thought to be a good idea, and the competition was born. So, to prevent arguments over who thought/said what, this page is going to lay down the Official Deathsweep 2008 rules and nominations. First off, the rules:

1. Don’t talk about Deathsweep Sorry, clichés are kinda catchy. The real rules:

  1. Correct nominations win a pint from each player
  2. Five nominations per player
  3. Only one instance of each celebrity - all participants must have unique choices

*These are chosen simply on the virtue of being the world’s oldest people, meaning they’re as good as celebrities to Deefball. According to Rags, it also means Willy gets a “kick in the stanes” from each of us every time one dies, and he even bravely nominated himself as the first to attempt this. I still reckon Winehouse’ll pop her clogs first though.

We are also currently awaiting Mikey to devise an algorithm than can work out some odds, although right now the faves have to be Robson, Winehouse and McNeil. Oh, he’s participant, not a nominee. My mistake. I also think manner of death should be considered for each nomination, with a grand prize of 20 euros for every right answer (Willy discounted for obvious reasons).
